Rain is a common thing on class S planet often followed by lightnings. The canteen is a high traffic zone so it's a good idea to place it as a dead end. Our colonists will become thirsty soon, so let's build them a small canteen. Metal is one of the early bottlenecks in this game so it's better to build it early. And we need a processing plant to make a metal from ore.

Now we're ready to place the oxygen generator.

Let's build a mine close to a hill and an airlock, close to the mine. Also you need a water extractor to feed an oxygen generator. First of all, place a large (not small!) power collector Beside of it place a medium (not small!) solar panel. Click on the landing ship and recycle it -> you'll get some resources. OK, let's start - oxygen in spacesuits is depleting fast. There's not as much space for building as on the other planets, but fortunately the sharp rocks on the ground can be deleted. The planet has a difficult terrain - there're many ponds and hills around Astrounauts are excited. Fortunately, it's the only disaster on it.
PLANETBASE WELFARE HOW TO
There are hours of fun filling in the gaps of your social needs and fending off interplanetary nuances.Hello guys! In this video I'll show you how to start a base on the new Class S planet! This planet is called the "Storm planet" because thunderstorms are common on it. It doesn't have the budget of a mass-scale sci-fi epic - but delivers a holistically better experience than counterparts like Civilization: Beyond Earth. Planetbase is actually a pretty well-rounded space colony simulator, all things considered. And that's another thing - is there some kind of reward for a thriving colony? Not really. The micromanagement grinds you down into a pulp, where it makes players question where it's even worth continuing to objectives. However, that very same notion is what creates an aura of doubt about the game. Each will be a challenge in its own right - and overlooking a small detail can create multitudinous problems within your society.Īpart from the initial frustrations of starting, Planetbase's eye for detail makes this game pretty entertaining. Players will face up to natural disasters, organizational obstacles, maintenance, and colonists' content. It's the difficulty of the game that brings the immersion factor.

Luckily, Planetbase recognizes that space colonization simulators should not be a walk in the park. But that can become boring pretty quickly. There is a player base that is perfectly happy with doing that against a sci-fi visual backdrop. It all seems pretty basic in stature - grow your colony until it's self-sustaining. You take charge of your space settlers to build warehouses and labs to generate all the essentials - food, oxygen, and building materials. Right from the get-go, you'll be building a base to stand the test of time. It's how immersive it gets with all the available mechanics. Nope, nothing has changed in that regard - but it's not really the narrative that matters for a game like this. You are placed on a new planet and tasked with guiding your little civilization to survival. We're hoping to channel a grand old space opera with this one! Take Me Away From This PlanetĮven before you hit the start button - the concept of Planetbase is pretty apparent. Notably, a few of these kinds of games have been a bit lackluster over the years. That usually means there is more passion involved in delivering an engaging product. It feels like space strategy, simulation, and survival games are nothing new - but the difference here is that Planetbase is an indie offering. And it's bringing some challenges with it!
PLANETBASE WELFARE SIMULATOR
However, Planetbase is a colonization simulator taking our fantasies of a new life on a desolate planet a reality. Can't we find a new home somewhere in the Milky Way? Unfortunately for us, it's not entirely possible yet. We dream of leaving this god-forsaken planet.
